HOW does the "3-foot-rule" technique aFFects our "Professionalism"?
network marketing industry was first introduced to the world way back approximately 50 years from now.
early batch of network marketers formulated many techniques on how they can win people and gain their prospects. since then the "3-foot-rule" technique started to exist.
during that period, this technique was considered to be one of the most effective ways for network marketers to spread the good news of their opportunities as fast as possible.
as years passed by, several mlm companies were born. and all of them recommended their distributors to use such technique. many were able to establish their lives and manage to gain the income their dreaming of.
looking into the reality of things in mlm, this technique is already 50+ years of age... so much "outdated".
like ann sieg said... "this may work for sometime, but it may damage your business and your social life".
let's examine reality.
we have what we call our "privacy circle".

let's examine reality.
we have what we call our "privacy circle".
when someone gets in this circle, people tend to oppose, be reactive, be uncomfortable and will feel the need of defending themselves.
for us to have a vivid look on what really this "privacy circle" is, let me site an example.
here in the philippines, we have jeepneys as one of our means of transportation. try to observe people riding these jeepneys. they will sit away from one another as far as they can. it is because sitting beside a total stranger really feels uncomfortable, right?... sometimes, others may feel they'll be invaded and harassed.
there you go...
now let's go back to mlm... presenting the 3-foot-rule... how is this technique being done?
network marketers are approaching people, literally strangers, talk to them and give them information about their companies and opportunities. and unknowingly, they are already invading someone else's "privacy".
i believe that network marketing is not just an ordinary "opportunity". for me i look on this as a "profession" already. and by having this profession, it's our duty and responsibility to do things "professionally".
doctors would not come out the streets to look for patients..... lawyers would not look for murderers... nurses would not beg for their patient's attention... dentist would not look for people with teeth cavities... etcetera.
there are lots of new techniques that we can use right now. we are in the modern age! we don't need to stoop down our level just to do mlm.
always remember.... we are professionals... we are the experts!
we just need to think outside the box to do this.
